Wider is better...
Bmw E34 530i, 540i and '95 525i are equipped with a wider grill and a wider hood. I had the opportunity to change the look of my car after my accident.
It is an expensive upgrade because you will have to change all the components of the grill and the hood then you will have to have the hood and the grill frame painted.
Procedure
GRILL ($200 aftermarket):
• Grill frame: 51 13 8 170 096
• Grill cover over lights L/R: 51 13 8 148 311/312
• Center grill (kidney): 51 13 8 148 727
• Chrome pieces over kidney L/R: 51 13 8 148 725/726
• Frame fixing clamps L/R 51 13 1 978 151/152
Hood wide (Europe): 41-61-8-138-748
Hood wide (North America): 41-61-8-137-997 ($300 - $500)
You will have to remove everything from your old hood and hook everything back on the new one. All the grill components are a direct fit, you will not have to drill any hole.

After you've removed all the fastens pull the bumper straight back, and it will just slide off. Now to the new bumper: This one has a diffuser on it. DO NOT put the diffuser on at this point, as it will limit the ...

... lip of the fender – avoid removing the soft rubber seal. Once that is done, the problem is revealed! I put the wheel back on, and rolled the car out to the drive way where I could hose down this area. I also used a small soft brush to help dislodge the gunk. Note that the back of this area is actually open to the under side of the car, and the door jam, so you can shoot water from the hose and ...

... the bottom of the skirt. Don't drill the bottom using the template. Mine didn't line up very good. Read on for a way to get the holes exactly right and save some time. After raising the rear, take off the rear tire. You might've noticed on the template, that you'll have to drill 2 more holes on the rear wheel-well side of the skirt. The front ones don't have those, so the rear wheels are the ...

Disconnect the connectors, take the plate off and set it aside. You now see 3 (three) bolts asnd a rubber plug, with the wires going through it. I'm not sure if some mirrors would come with it already on, but mine didn't. The hole inside of it was ...

... amount of the BCP through the grey paint, move down the skirt and star scrubbing in the next area. I recommend working in 8" sections. Each time you get through to the BCP, stop for a second, wipe off the area that you just worked on, and spray it again with the CSC. Now is also a good time to spray the rest of the skirt with more CSC. The idea is that the CSC works well when it has time to ...
