-:: General Information ::-

Car:
1998 Integra RS

Installation time:
~4 hours

-:: Parts Required ::-

Quantity Part Description Part Number
1 can High temperature paint (Engine paint) N/A
1 roll masking tape N/A
lots news paper or garbage bags N/A

-:: Tools Required ::-

drill with metal brush (recommended)
protective eye wear (recommended)
Hydraulic jack
Jackstands
10, 12, 14, 17 mm wrenches
Torque wrench

-:: Installation Steps ::-

1. Raise vehicle and place on jackstands, remove wheels.

2. Remove both 12 mm bolts holding the front caliper to the caliper bracket.

3. Place caliper on carboard box and mask wheel well and portion of car (news paper or garbage bags work well). Over spray isn't cool. Tape brake line to reduce paint spray.

4. Remove pads. If pads are in bad condition, replacing them would be a good idea.

5. Remove caliper bracket by removing both 17 mm bolts that hold the caliper bracket to the knuckle.

6. Use tape to cover the rubber boot on the sliders. Find good location to paint (again, over spray isn't cool).

7. Use metal brush to clean caliper and caliper bracket. We used a brush mounted on a drill to make things easier, eye protection would be a good move.

8. Paint caliper and caliper bracket. Many thin layers will dry faster than one thick layer, and will also reduce the chances of having paint runs.

9. Air garage, paint fumes are bad.

10. Once the paint is dry (dryer the better), remove tape on caliper brackets, remove all covering from vehicle.

11. Install calipber bracket, pads and caliper.

12. Repeat process for rear caliper. Rear caliper bracket is held in place by two 14 mm bolts.

13. Repeat these steps for the other side.

14. Reinstall wheels, torque to 90 ft/lbs.

15. Lower vehicle and be proud of the sexy calipers.

-:: Installation Comments ::-

THis is an inexpensive mod that looks great, especially on cars with bigger rims.

... slip the rubber boot over the groove) and verify that they slide freely. 9. Reinstall the caliper bracket, tighten both 17 mm bolts. 10. Install new brake pads (warning track towards middle of car). Add a bit of brake grease on the metal sliders (where the pad slides). 11. Reinstall the caliper, tighten both 12 mm bolts.
