This page is an illustrated guide on how to install the PerfectImageCreations / Legend 5 Brushed Aluminum trim kit. I ordered the kit straight from Dean at PICI. I got the biggest kit they have for the Jetta/Bora because I got a great deal on the kit. Click on any of the pics for a bigger version. The kit is real anodized aluminum. It is not clear coated or anything. I picked it because I think it highlights the silver of the car on the inside. I have a 2000 Silver Arrow GLS 1.8T with gray leather interior.

Remove the masking tape holding the pieces in place. Be careful not to peel the red/maroon backing tape when you do this. Lie all the parts face up in the sun to warm up. Don't leave the primer in the sun with the parts.

Clean all the surfaces that will be affected. I used rubbing alcohol and a non linty cloth. If you used armor-all or any other type of vinyl protectant you must make sure there is none on the areas that will be covered- the kit will NOT stick to those areas. Rubbing alcohol will usually remove it.

Test all the pieces by placing them where they will go. Some pieces my require bending of adjusting to fit. When flexing the metal be very slow- you will notice the metal bends and shapes very easily. Make sure there is contact on all areas.

Now that the pieces are ready to be placed, you have to prime the surfaces to which the adhesive backing will be applied. The kit comes with a primer pen, which is extremely easy to use. Test the pen on some cardboard to ensure an even flow of primer in the pen. Once the pen is ready, prime the surfaces that will be covered. Be careful to do only those parts. If primer gets on other parts, use rubbing alcohol to remove it. In theory you need to prime all parts which have the red adhesive backing as opposed to the primer-free burgundy/maroon colored backing. I applied primer to all areas anyway to improve adhesion.
Once the surface has been primed, you remove the plastic adhesive backing from the piece and carefully position it. Once positioned apply firm pressure over the entire surface of the piece a little at a time to ensure that all surfaces are in contact with the adhesive surface.

That's it! Do one piece at a time, take your time, there is no need to rush- after all you will be looking at this for the rest of the car's life, so make sure you put it on well! Do not try to peel any part because the aluminum will bend and damage the piece.
You do not necessarily have to put all the pieces. I put all of them except for the sunroof piece. It was cut out for a GLX and the GLS sunroof control is different, so I did not put it.

VW Bus, How to Add a Rear Seatbelt
Model : Volkswagen, Vanagon Category : Interior - Seats
... for the baby's revers seats it is better than without the upper belt. For the next step of seats for childrens older than a year, the larger seat will be fitted well. too. I keep both, shoulder belts for the youngster's seat, and the single belt for adults. You will need some parts to mount the belt. There is a complete set, as Joel wrote, but I got the whole set as single parts at a local VW ... (more)
