Coolant temp sensor mod
Model : Suzuki, Swift Category : Misc
... I wouldn't do it this way, but you can try it, and see what happens. The third way, and the best way for turbo guys, is to use a pressure switch that will either introduce the pot into the circuit at a preset setting to replace the sensor, or add resistance along with the sensor. I have used tis method to run 25psi on my turbo 3 at high RPM, and cool ( 0 degrees C ) weather conditions. In ... (more)

Installing the Aquamist 1S water injection system
Model : Saab, 9000 Category : Misc
... tap for the thread on the nozzle, but you have to decide where to put it. Anywhere after the intercooler is suitable, although I decided to go post dump valve to avoid staining the engine bay and also to minimise water use. Being further away from the throttle body helps because of mixing, and you definitely want it before the temperature sensor. That doesn’t actually leave a lot of room ... (more)

Replacing the standard Saab 9000 exhaust system with a JT SuperFlow 3" system

... this later... Note: Later US-spec cars require a second oxygen sensor downstream of the catalytic converter. To accommodate non-US and earlier US models, the JT system does not come with provision for this sensor. The sensor should be mounted at the front (female) end of the long straight pipe. To facilitate this, a hole should be drilled and an M18 boss welded to the pipe. What is supplied The ... (more)

Removing and replacing the turbocharger on a Saab 9000
Model : Saab, 9000 Category : Force Induction - Turbocharging
... solution I have found for the rear nut is to use a 13mm socket on a 1/4" drive sliding T-bar, supplied with a small 1/4" socket set. The sliding bar can be manoeuvred to clear the engine block and downpipe as the nut is turned. An alternative for the rear nut would be a 13mm crescent wrench, which is a spanner with a gentle 90° bend. Remove the two bolts (Torx T25 or 10mm) ... (more)

Specifically, on the B202 (2.0 litre engine without balance shafts), the valve is mounted on top of the inlet manifold and is readily accessible. The reason I undertook this procedure was that my '96 Aero had ... (more)

Flushing/Bleeding the Saab 9000 Braking System

... manual transmission, DON'T press the clutch pedal while the fluid in the reservoir is low. The clutch shares the same reservoir and fluid and doing this may introduce air into the clutch. After flushing the braking system, the clutch should really be flushed as well to prevent contamination of the new brake fluid. Tightening the Saab 9000 steering column adjuster
